ESPO “STUDIO GANGSTER” BOOK
Steve Power’s new book has been out for a little while now, but for those that don’t know, “Studio Gangster”, available… (read more) from Gingko Press, features the last five years of ESPO’s artwork “that distill the complete range of human emotion into readily recalled and related themes”. Personally, I think the man is a genius – speaker of the truth and a voice for the working poor.
MIKE GIANT IN ITALY
Above is one photo of many that Mike Giant posted on his Fecal Face blog about his trip to Bologna, where he showed his work at Arte Fiera for Magda Danysz Gallery. Nice to see a graffiti artist’s work being displayed amongst typical “fine art”. As always, nice, clean, crisp lettering.
ADIDAS X HALO
Not something I’d particularly wear but this sneaker is worth noting because of its Halo-ness. Inspired by Washington Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas love for Halo (Hibachi’s a big-time gamer and sponsor of the top Halo Team in the world, Final Boss) this limited Adidas Gil II Zero Halo sneaker will be available at select stores on February 8, 2008. Check out the Bungie logo and weapons.

M.A.C. X FAFI
Adidas, LeSportsac and now M.A.C. French graffiti artist Fafi has created three new characters for M.A.C.: Eriko, Monoka and Ermine, along with a complete makeup collection consisting of compact powders, mascaras, lipsticks, glosses, paint pots…). The collection will be available at M.A.C counters in the United States on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2008. Fafi will be in NYC on February 13 at Bendal’s for the release.
