CLOUT MOVIE PICK #6 – GRANDMA’S BOY

Grandma’s Boy was slept on in the theaters but when it hit DVD the buzz spread like wildfire. Produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions, Grandma’s Boy stars well – all those guys that you always see in Adam Sandler movies but don’t know who they are. Well it’s now time for these comedic geniuses to get their just due and they’re well deserving of such. Allen Covert plays Alex, a 35 year old video game tester who’s been sliding his way through life on a cloud of weed smoke, until he’s kicked out of his apartment and forced to live with his grandmother and her two roommates. Embarassed of his living situation, he tells his friends that he’s staying with three nyphomaniacs, all the while trying to beat a job deadline and running into multiple interruptions, one of which include a new female boss that stands out from the rest of the video game virgin nerds. I was really suprised at how good and funny this movie was; it was kind of the rebirth of good vulgar comedies which have taken a back seat to the PG-13 onslaught of sub par comedies. So if you’re not ready for masturbating on your friend’s mom, karate monkeys, Filipino hookers, or laughing your ass off then maybe Grandma’s Boy isn’t the movie for you, but then if you’re not…what the hell is wrong with you?
