Although it doesn't seem like I need a lot of special equipment to eat on my own, it's not covered by the minimal state health insurance. Thanks to Tammy, a close friend of mine and the support and donations from all of you, I have been able to get some of the therapy and things that I need. As always, thank you all very much.

I was asked to do half of this train car. One of my boys is going to do the other half of this as a collaboration for the next death cheater benefit show. The second train was a gift for my boy who has been putting in a ridiculous amount of time on these benefit art shows for me. Thanks, I love you brother..

Mitch Reiter and his wife Brandi Marie have become friends of mine in the last couple of months. Mitch has deep graffiti roots as an old school member of the esteemed LA crew, AWR. He is now a photographer with an urban edge, using his graphic arts background to add flare. The first two pictures will be available as 27"x35" canvas prints at the benefit in San Jose. I just moved to a new house recently. I am in independence training until I make my next move, which is living on my own, independently as possible. I take weekly classes teaching independence. There are less nurses and rules here, bringing about more independence. I planned on showing you more pictures of my room but they wouldn't load. I have pictures, paintings, and gifts from friends and family covering every part of my room. Being independent also means being able to get up, dressed, and out in my chair more often. I'm finally able to wear some of these shirts that have been sitting in my closet for so long like the Clout Todd Bratrud limited edition tee and this ODMD tee.

Today I got my trach taken out. The end of a huge step of my recovery. Well almost the end, it has to heal. For a long time after my accident, I was completely dependent on a ventilator to breath for me. I couldn't talk for the first 5 months after my accident. I had a cuffed trach which blocked all air from going to my vocal cords and mouth. With my miracle therapist and a lot of work and many more steps, I got off the ventilator. Being able to breath on your own is definitely the most important part of my recovery. Now I can barely talk until this heals. Sometimes I think about how I should be doing more and how I have such a long way to go. Then I get reminded about how far I've came. Today was one of those reminders. Another reminder since I've moved has been the owner of the company coming in with the new client's families. Talking about how I was one of the sickest patients they ever brought to new start and how I came so far so fast. She tells me how I am the example and leader of the new Independence training program here. It makes me feel good and makes me want to push for more.

The generosity from everybody for the first Death Cheater benefit art show was overwhelming and very appreciated. Although the show was extremely successful, there is a lot of left over art. Friends suggested we open an Ebay account to sell the pieces to help raise more money. Also to give people a chance to donate and support even though they can't make it to one of the shows. There will be one piece up for auction every week. I will post a picture and link to the weekly Ebay auction on my blog along with a picture and preview of what's going to be for auction the next week.
